WHAT
WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED
Since 2000,
when NAFODU was formed, the organization has made a number of
achievements through its countrywide democracy promotion programs.
NAFODU has:
- Developed, an effective network of
members and maintains its presence in all constituencies and districts
across the country
- Conducted civic education programs
at local community level in the districts of south western Uganda
- Gained regional recognition
- Monitored all the parliamentary,
presidential and local council elections
- Provided voter education and
mobilization campaigns PRIOR TO all major elections
- Conducted several rounds of country
wide training workshops for key electoral stake holders and NAFODU
members on various aspects of democracy- including political party
workshops, councilors workshops, elected leaders workshops etc
- NAFODU has over the five years
earned a respectable recognition and is able to convene and bring
together prominent stakeholders and influence policy change in the
government
Power
and freedom to the people. People gather at a campaign rally in
Bundibugyo District western Uganda. The constitution of the republic of
Uganda provides for the right of freedom of assembly. NAFODU work
towards changing the political culture to ensure power and freedom to
the people
